How Important Is A Birth Experience?

If you talk to someone who has already had a bad birth experience, it can mean a lot!  It is a woman's right to give birth to her baby where and how she chooses.  Having a positive birth experience brings such empowerment to a woman and enjoyment to the start of motherhood.  It can mean better bonding with her baby and create a positive experience for the whole family.

If you're pregnant, you have probably heard many different stories of people's births - good ones and bad ones.  Some may be so horrible that you cringe when you hear them.  Others sound so wonderful that they make you cry.

What makes a good birth experience?  It truly depends on the needs and desires of you and your partner.  Some people would love a private home birth; others feel comfortable in a hospital setting but with as much personal space as possible; and some will only be comfortable knowing that there is an emergency crew standing by "just in case." 

How can YOU have a positive birth experience?  Hiring a doula ensures that you are informed about all of your choices, educated about your options and supported 100% by someone hired JUST for you.  Whatever type of birth place you want, consider hiring a doula to help you.
